Welcome to Episcopal Retirement Homes

With over half a century of expansion and experience improving the lives of older adults, Episcopal Retirement Homes has become the leader in quality retirement communities and innovative elder care services. Rather than pay profits to owners and shareholders, ERH reinvests that money back into our communities.

We are also proud that over our long history we have never asked a resident to leave any of our communities for financial reasons. Not all retirement communities can promise that, in writing right in the resident agreement. People of all faiths are welcome at ERH and our Person-Centered Care philosophy means that everything we do is driven by the needs and well-being of those we serve. The results are remarkable.

What makes us different?

Episcopal Retirement Homes offers more than just retirement communities.  We have a long, successful track record providing a wide range of services for older adults and their families.  As you explore our website take an introductory tour of our 2 premier retirement communities  and you will start to get a feel for the genuine sense of community experienced at ERH by our residents, their families, and our staff.  Our virtual tours will give you an idea of the wide array of amenities we offer there, and our resident interactive video testimonials will give you a chance to hear from our residents and ask them questions that may be on your mind.

Hear what Bob has to say about life at Marjorie P. Lee and also find out why Claire loves it here.

Meet Deupree House resident Louise Mandell.

Then visit our community service programs  that we provide to the greater  communities around Cincinnati such as our Meals on Wheels, Parish Health Ministry or our Living Well Senior Solutions older adult care management service and you will see how we interact with those around us.

And finally, have a look at our Affordable Living communities and discover what it means for people with limited financial resources to live with dignity and respect in a safe, enriching community environment. The Elberon, Forest Square, Woodburn PointeSt. Paul Village, St. Pius Place, Shawnee Place, Canterbury Court and Cambridge Heights all offer individuals with low incomes a variety of living options.

All of these services support our mission to enrich the lives of older adults in a person-centered, innovative, and spiritually based way.  Our resident and staff satisfaction scores are high, our staff turnover is among the lowest in the country, and the Medicare ratings for our care centers are consistently among the best in the industry.  On top of that we have earned the “Top Workplace” award and “Best retirement community on the East side” poll.  All of this doesn’t just happen by chance and we are proud that we count ourselves among the “best of the best” in all that we do.

A good example of this is that our state-of-the-art nursing care center, The Deupree Cottages,  was chosen as one of only six communities in the United States as an example of “excellent aged-care environments” in the recently published book, Design for Aging: International Case Studies of Building and Program.  The book includes 21 other examples of excellent communities from around the world.

Over sixty years of experience and expert management make it all possible.

As a faith-based, not-for-profit organization, our number one priority is to ensure the seniors we serve are Living well into the future.™
